Saturday the 12th of September -2009

Truro Carnival has been a tradition in Truro for many years, some residents may recall the days when people would come from all the surrounding villages and towns to take part in the Carnival parade or to just enjoy the atmosphere and the procession.

Today the Truro Carnival is organized by the 'Truro Carnival Committee' a group of people who are passionate about keeping the long-running tradition of Truro Carnival alive and the bringing back of the community spirit to an event steeped in tradition.

This year Truro Carnival has a wider range of judging classes including, best decorated trade vehicle, best decorated wheelchair, pram and bike. We are also proud to announce that 2009 will see the return of the very popular Carnival Queens and the fairy King and Queen sections to the Carnival procession.

On the day of the Carnival, from 11am onwards there will be a 'Party Picnic' at Hendra Park. Families are encouraged to bring along a picnic and enjoy face painting, small children's rides, glamourous Granny and gorgeous Grandad competitions along with welly throwing and other activities. A fun way to enjoy your Saturday before watching the colourful Carnival procession.
